Oxfam Canada’s Oxfam Trailwalker won Best New Festival or Event at the Festival & Events Ontario annual President’s Gala. FEO is the voice of festival and event organizers across the province. The annual President’s Gala recognizes the incredible efforts and success found in the festivals and events industry in Ontario.

Best Achievement in Logistics

Hala Events & Communications Inc. was nominated for Best Achievement in Logistics during the 2008 Special Event Magazine awards for our work on The Teddy Bear Affair to benefit the national charity Children’s Aid Foundation.

Hala Events & Communications Inc. won the Canadian Events Industry award for Best Fundraising Event in Canada for our work on The Teddy Bear Affair to benefit the national charity Children’s Aid Foundation. This year celebrated the 20th anniversary of the gala and featured an ice skating show with both aerial and live performances with the likes of Kurt Browning and Michael Burgess. Hala Events & Communications Inc. won the Special Events Magazine award for Best Fundraising Event for our work on SickKids Foundation’s An Enchanted Evening, a family gala featuring Juno-award winning children's entertainers from Treehouse TV's hit Series "Judy & David's Boom Box." The Gala Awards have been given by Special Events Magazine, the premier industry publication and recognize the finest work in special events worldwide. For the 2006 Gala Awards, the magazine received 389 entries in 35 categories from Canada, England, Germany, Ireland, Taiwan, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates and the United States.

At the 2006 ISES Eventworld® in August in Honolulu, Hawaii, Hala Events & Communications Inc. was awarded the Esprit Award for Social Event Planning over $100,001. The ISES Esprit Awards recognize the best and most creative talent and efforts in the special events industry.
